Otahuhu Primary School

Otahuhu Primary School is the oldest school in the Otahuhu district and celebrated its 150th Jubilee in 2008. We have a proud history of serving our students and community well.

Today we have over 600 students who attend our school and more than 50 adults working on our staff.

The school has a history, which extends back to 9 August 1858 when classes were conducted for the first time in a building belonging to the Church of England. Since that time there have been many changes which have seen the school change from a District High School catering for both primary and secondary school students to the primary contributing school it is today catering for Y0-6 students only. Today we have over 500 students who attend our school and more than 50 adults working on our staff. The school continues to serve a diverse community and students attending are mainly drawn from Pacific, Māori, and Indian cultural backgrounds. Students are offered bilingual programmes in the Māori, Samoan and Tongan languages.
